The Racing Week That Was 8/7/18

Monday, we start at Hamilton it was a great day for our members. Elegiac who had run really well at Royal Ascot for a long way won in good style here for Mark Johnston. Elegiac was advised to our members(3pts win)  at 13/8. Mark Johnston completed a double on the night with Tight Lines. The Novice Stakes went in spectacular fashion to I Believe In You who won by four and a half lengths. At Windsor, Team Decision was on target for Godolphin. It was a great result for our members as I Believe In You 645 Hamilton (7/4) & Team Decision 800 Windsor (8/11) were advised in a 2pts win double. At Wolverhampton, there was a treble for David Probert on board Onefootinparadise, Arnoul Of Metz and Comrade In Arms. At Pontefract, Mark Johnston completed a treble on the day with Blown By Wind. There was a double for Silvestre De Sousa on board Highly Sprung and Construct.

Tuesday, we start at Brighton. It was Sir Mark Prescott who was on target with Matchmaking. At Hamilton, the feature race went to Mark Johnston with Ventura Knight who was a good winner. Whats the message advised to our members' 1pt each way at 8/1 placed. At Stratford, there was another winner for Dan and Harry Skelton with Hatcher. At Chepstow, there was a double for Sir Mark Prescott giving him an across the card treble. The horses were Final Rock and Timoshenko.

Wednesday, we start at Bellewstown. It was a very proud day for the Galaxy Horse Racing Syndicate. As our second syndicate horse, Alfirak (800 Bellewstown) took to the track for the first time in our colors. It was a wonderful occasion at our local track Bellewstown. Alfirak ran a brilliant race to finish second conceding 20 pounds to the winner. Alfirak will have learned plenty from this. We have been patient with Alfirak he is still growing and developing, he is very much a horse for the future. Alfirak is not as streetwise yet as experienced horses.  Alfirak has tremendous courage and an attitude that has a real will to win, we are confident he has a good future in front of him. We cannot stress how delighted we are with the effort of Alfirak last night. The Lord gives it and he takes it away. The treatment of Alfirak by the handicapper was very disappointing to give Alfirak three pounds for coming second carrying 9 stone 13  pounds was to be polite harsh. Our hand is now forced as Alfirak will be ruled out 0-65 races going forward. We will have to take our chance at Roscommon on Monday.

The rest of the Bellewstown card saw a double for Ger Lyons and Colin Keane with Scream and Artistic Melody. At Musselburgh, there was a double for Keith Dalgleish with Falcons Fire and Jacob Black. At Worcester, there was a double for Richard Johnson on board Robin Des Mana and Boethius. At Thirsk, the feature race went to Aljady for Richard Fahey and Paul Hanagan. At Perth, there was a remarkable four-timer for Brian Hughes on board Judge Earle, Nefyn Bay, Strong Team and Cooking Fat. At Wexford, there was a double for Sean Flanagan with Double Windsor and Le Martalin.

Saturday, we start at Sandown for the Coral-Eclipse. The Coral charge went to Judicial who just hung on from Muthmir. The Eclipse went to Roaring Lion who just held off Saxon Warrior in a good finish. I think these two will clash again possibly in the Judmonte and the Irish Champion Stakes. There was a long ridiculous Stewards inquiry which too far too much time to sort out. The win on Roaring Lion saw Oisin Murphy have a double completed by De Medici. At Beverley, Desert Ace nailed Bosham on the run in. It was hard luck on our members who were advised Judicial 1220 Sandown (4/1) & Bosham 310 Beverly (8/1) in a 0.5pt each way double. At Haydock, the Old Newton Cup went to Rainbow Rebel for Mark Johnston and Joe Fanning.

At Chelmsford, there was a double for Mark Johnston with Liberatix and Book Of Dreams. There were also doubles for David Simcock and Stevie Donohoe with Singyoursong and Plentyintthetanksir. At Naas, there was a double Colm O'Donoghue on board Night Of Power and Sparklenjoy. At Bellewstown, the feature race went to Monarch and Mark Walsh. There was a double for Willie Mullins with Voix Du Reve and Easy Gold.

Sunday, we start at Limerick Supreme Vinnie won the race, however, the story of the race was the ride given to Snugsborough Benny which was very poor. The stewards looked into it but no action was taken. Snugsborough Benny advised to our members (1pt each way) at 15/2 placed. There was a double on the card for Davy Russell and Henry De Bromhead with One In All In and Classic Theatre. At Market Rasen, the feature race went to Wynford for Dan and Harry SkeltonWynford was advised to our members (1pt each way) at 9/2.
