Monday , we start at Ayr. The 1 mile 2 furlongs maiden went in good style to Navajo War Dance despite being an uneasy favourite (1/2 - 8/11) winning by four lengths for Karl Burke. The 1 mile handicap went to Millefiori for red hot classic winning trainer Adrian Keatley winning by a massive ten lengths. Millefiori will surely be turned out again before the handicapper can catch up. At Leicester the two year old auction stakes (Division 2) produced an impressive winner in Dr Julius No for Ralph Beckeet and Fran Berry running out a two and a half length winner. At Carlilse there was another winner on the day for Karl Burke as Medici Banchiere won by a hardly believable ten lengths in the two year old five furlong auction race. At Windsor there was a double for Andrea Atzeni with Rockspirit and Baadi. At Sligo the best maiden hurdler in trainer got off the mark as the Willie Mullins trained Let's dance won the maiden hurdle. Let's dance having had loads of grade 1 experience this season. Let's dance will surely be a massive force to be reckoned with over hurdles next winter after a summers grass. Let's dance will still be a novice into the bargain. The rest of the Sligo card was carnage for the punters with the last four races returning SPs of 33/1, 66/1, 16/1 and 25/1 jeepers tonight!!
Tuesday, we start at Hexham. The mares handicap hurdle went Sultana Belle who kept on in good style. The race also saw the admirable Beyondtemptation chuck in a rare below par run the ground may have gone too quick for Beyondtemptation and it may be best to wait for the rain to come again. At Southwell there was a jumps card Stormbay Bomber won the handicap chase and but for an X rated mistake in the home straight would have won by further. There was a double for Nicky Henderson Phobiaphilliac and Scorpio Queen. Dan Skelton also had a winner with Benissimo. On a quiet day racing wise there was nothing of note at Wetherby or Wolverhampton.
Wednesday, we start at Hamilton, Millefiori was turned out by Adrian Keatley having won at Ayr on Monday. It was another easy day at the office as Millefiori won by 4 lengths, this horse is improving all the time.At Lingfield Richard Hughes picked up another winner with Heres two in division 2 of the Fillies Handicap. At Market Rasen the 2 mile 1 furlong handicap chase went to Sir note who put a superb round of jumping to win by a thumping ten lengths. The mares handicap hurdle went to Miss Estella who won by a half length. At Kempton there was a treble for Sylvester De Sousa including a dead heat the horse in the dead heat was On the bill. The other two winners were Exalted and Royal Reef. At Newton Abbott Mias Storm was a really impressive winner for Alan King in the mares novice hurdle by 11 lengths. At Gowran, Monarch was an impressive winner of the 7 furlong maiden for Aidan O'Brien despite drifting across the track this horse will be better stepped up in trip. Monarch was the first leg of a double for Aidan O'Brien Earring being the second leg. There was also a double for Charles O'Brien with Great Wide Open and Zorba the Greek who was fortunate the luckless Elusive in Paris did not get out from behind a wall of horses sooner a half length being the margin at the line.
Thursday, we start at Sandown which had a very good card. The Henry II stakes (group 3) saw the comeback of Max Dynamite for Willie Mullins who on his last start had been runner up in the Melbourne cup. The race looking to be going to plan at two furlongs out for Max Dynamite until the giant Pallasator ranged up and after a bit of a tussle, Pallasator went away to win by two and a half lengths. Max Dynamite lost third close home to Suegioo. I think Willie Mullins will be happy with the run of Max Dynamite , that said Pallasator was conceding four pounds to Max Dynamite. This was good from Pallasator. The Brigadier Gerard Stakes a group 3 also. The race turned out to be a very good contest. The race went to Time Test who came from last to first , after a great battle in the last furlong with Western Hymn there was a neck in it at the line. The favourite Intilaaq ran way below par but was found to scope dirty afterwards. At Bangor Richard Johnson had a winner for Jonjo O'Neill with Dreamsoftheathre in the 3 mile handicap chase by four and half lengths. At Chelmsford there was a double for Jim Crowley with Kindly and Lady Lunchalot. At Haydock there was a double for Charlie Appleby and William Buick with Nasimi and Lusory.
At Newcastle ,Mark Johnston had a winner in Poet's society in the five furlong novice stakes by 3 lengths. The 1 mile 2 furlongs maiden went to Sir Michael Stoute with Shranoah by a heavily eased 6 lengths. At Tipperary there was a double for Aidan O'Brien with Pedestal and Arya Tara. The O'Brien team continue to churn out the winners. The Division 2 of the Maiden Hurdle went to Weather Watch for Jessica Harrington. The race had a dramatic conclusion as Beau Mome crashed out at the last hurdle when he looked like he might win. I reckon Beau Mome was a little unlucky. The remarkable thing was that Stuccodor once again went off favourite at 13/8 he has punters skint.
Friday, we start at Bath where Richard Hughes had another winner with Dynamo in the 1 mile 5 furlong handicap. Richard Hughes has started his training career very well. At Brighton there was a double for Ryan Moore with Monks Stand and Goldenfield. There was also a double for Sylvester De Sousa with Glasgow Central and Lord Reason. At Haydock there was a double Tom Dascombe with Colourfilly (50/1) and Caponova. At Musselburgh the five furlong handicap saw a return to form for Bowson Fred (10/1 overnight - 9/2) who won by a neck and a neck from Olivia Fallow and Paddy Power. At Pontefract the two year old conditions race went to Yalta by four and a half lengths, yet another two year old winner for Mark Johnston. At Worcester there was a decent jumps card. Southfield Vic won the novice chase for Paul Nicholls by 25 lengths. Paul Nicholls is having plenty of winners considering how few runners he has during the summer. The two mile four furlongs handicap chase went to Al Alfa who won by 3 parts of a length under a brilliant Richard Johnson. The race was bad luck for our members as they had a (1pt each way 9/1) on the runner up Presenting arms who ran a cracker. There was a view to the future in the novices hurdle as Going for broke won the race for Rebecca Curtis and newly appointed stable jockey Jonathan Moore. The talented young Irish jockey will surely prove a big success in the UK with average luck on his side.
At Down Royal there was a double for Fran Flood with Fighting days and Kylestyle. The win of Kylestyle saw our members selection Some Drama (1pt each way 9/2) place third. This completed a good day for us with the 0.5pt each way double (Presenting arms & Some Drama) both placing. Duckweed won the mares beginners chase for Jessica Harrington. The three mile handicap hurdle saw Clontarf get the race in the stewards room. Misdflight was first past the post , however he severely interfered with eventual winner Clontarf and eventual third Vote of confidence. Clontarf was rightly awarded the race.
Saturday,we start at Haydock where there was confusion over over the ground and distances not good for punters at all. The Pinnacle stakes went to to, Journey for Frankie Dettori and John Gosden winning by one and a quarter lengths. I am not going to go through the rest of the Haydock card as its very hard to say what the form is worth given the confusion over the ground and distances. At Chester the seven furlong handicap went to Sound Advice another winner for Keith Dalgleish , who held off Gabrials Kaka and Golden Steps. Keith Dalgleish is having a great season. The other trainer who has been banging in the winners has been Alan King who got another winner here in Master Blueyes who won the one mile four furlong handicap by a nose from Gunnery. The card at Beverly was a good one the two year old conditions race went to Prince of lir who beat The last lion by a length and a quarter. The two year old fillies conditions race went to Grizzel for Richard Hannon who got up late on by a neck to beat Clem Fandango. There was a double at Beverly for Tim Easterby with King of the Celts and Popsies Joy. At Cartmel the beginners chase saw the debut of Desoto County however he had to settle for second beaten a half length by Altruism. The two miles five furlong handicap chase went to Abbey Storm for Micky hammond another winner for Paul and Clare Rooney. The three mile handicap hurdle went to Eshtiaal for Gordon Elliott and Richard Johnson. Sky khan despite running well at Cheltenham, Aintree and Punchestown ran disappointing here.
At Catterick there was another winner for Keith Dalgleish as Roc de prince who won the 1 mile 7 furlong handicap. At Ffos las there was a double for Peter and Sean Bowen with Kinari and Curios Carlos, where Swansea mile ran pretty well in third. At Sailsbury there was another winner for Richard Hannon with Repton. The 1 mile 6 furlong handicap went to the really talented hurdler Starchitect who won well by two and a quarter lengths. Starchitect has a very workable mark on the flat he could pitch up at Royal ascot. The victory of Starchitect was good news for our members who had a (3pts win at 2/1). At Navan it was a very average card in truth struggling to pick a highlight. I thought that Ibsen who won division 2 of the one mile five furlongs handicap could have a good summer mixing flat and hurdles for Gordon Elliott.
Sunday, we start at at Fontwell where there was a double for Anthony Honeyball with Fountains windfall and Chill Factor. There was a treble for trainer Neil Mulholland with Very Extravagant Vexillum and Maid Of Tuscany. The day was to get even better for Neil Mulholland as he captured the feature race at Uttoxeter with Minella Present. The race was named after Sir Stanley Clarke, the winner Minella Present is owned by the family of Sir Stanley. The victory of Minella Present was good news for our members who had a (1pt each way bet at 9/1), Our luck was in further as Aylas emperor was declared a non runner our members had a (0.5pt each way double Aylas emperor and Minella Present) completing a fine day for us. The rest of Uttoxeter was dominated by Nicky Henderson who had a treble with Theinval, Only for love, and Ballinure. Nicky Henderson is getting lots of winners right now. Kelso hosted its last meeting until September on Sunday. There was a double for Donald McCain with Move to the groove and What Happens now. The Hunter chase went for the second consecutive year to Cave Hunter who held off the admirable Nowurhurlin . There was a good card at Naas which included another double for Aidan O'Brien with Peace Envoy and Cuff . I imagine both will head to Royal Ascot. There was a double for the visiting William Buick on board Anamba and Aridity. I was really impressed with both horses, I think they look to have bright futures.
