Monday, we start at Roscommon. I was in attendance myself , I was very impressed a nice track and good facilities. There were at least 25 bookmakers in attendance including as many as 8 female bookmakers which was good to see. The opening Auction maiden went in very impressive style to Painting Pictures for Jessica Harrington and Colm O'Donoghue. Painting Pictures looked very fit in the parade ring. Band Of Outlaws looked a nice horse beforehand , the jockey lost his irons early. Band Of Outlaws can be marked up for this , however Painting Pictures won by five an a half lengths and is one to watch. I was very impressed with Jeremy's Girl in the 45-75 handicap. This horse won with any amount in hand. The Novice chase went in very good style to Townshend who jumped like a cat. Peregrine Run ran well in second . I did not think Landofhopeandglory had a cut at his fences early, he warmed up but will have to improve his jumping. The Connacht National the feature race went in good style to On Fiddlers Green for Henry De Bromhead who saw off Auvergnat and Static Jack in a race that took plenty of getting.

At Leopardstown, I was really impressed with Flight Risk who took the Group 3 Oliver Brady Memorial Stakes. Kevin Manning went for a daring run up the inside got the split, however Flight Risk was good enough to take the split and bolted up. Flight Risk could be smart. There was an unfortunate incident for the Bolger team in the last. Constancio looked set to win when running out one furlong out . It was rotten luck on the young jockey Mr J P Dowling. Thankfully both horse and jockey were fine afterwards.

At Newton Abbott, there was a treble for Paul Nicholls with Trevisani, Bagad Bihoue and Alcala who took the feature race. There was a worrying postscript to the feature race as popular grey Cheltenham festival and Charlie Hall winner Irish Cavalier was taken away in the horse ambulance. I hope Irish Cavalier is ok a popular horse for Rebecca Curtis. At York,I was impressed with Big Country who just kept doing enough in the one mile two Furlong Handicap. Big Country could be a hard horse for the handicapper to catch up to. I also was impressed with Eartha Kitt who despite a bad start flew home in the fillies handicap. The same comments would apply to Southern Belle who was beaten a half length in second.
At Goodwood, Silvestre De Sousa made it six winners on the day as he got I'vegotthepower up by a head to win the one mile handicap. Vintage Vinnie could be a summer plate horse. At Chepstow, Ralph Beckett kept up his good form as Carpe Diem Lady took the seven furlong handicap. At Fairyhouse, there was a double for Kevin Manning and Jim Bolger with Sometimesadiamond and Fountain.
