Notebook Horses November 2018

There was a couple from November that slipped into the virtual black book

Thermistocles (Joseph O'Brien)

I really like this horse. Thermistocles has had seven career runs winning twice and placing three times. The penny seemed to have really dropped with this horse in the last run. A very good win at Clonmel on 15-11-18 winning a 25K handicap hurdle with plenty in hand. Thermistocles was well on top at the line. If you go back to the form of Thermistocles third-place finish only 3.5 lengths behind Dortmund Park on 1-1-2018. This form has been really well advertised by Dortmund ParkThermistocles looks to have plenty of scope from a mark of 128. I would imagine there will be a target over Christmas at Leopardstown in a handicap hurdle. Thermistocles can get us the Christmas expenses.

Uncle Alastair ( Nicky Richards)

Uncle Alastair has always looked a chaser in the making. A very good third at the Scottish Grand National meeting signed off a hurdles campaign that yielded three wins and two third-place finishes. It was the chasing debut of Uncle Alastair that got me really excited. A brilliant round of jumping from Uncle Alastair at Carlisle 12-11-18 behind the unbeaten Vinndication (5 wins from 5 career starts). Uncle Alastair traveled like a really good horse in that race. I am really looking forward to the next run of Uncle Alastair over fences. I think Uncle Alastair is well above average and can reward his backers throughout the season.
