The period between mid March till the end of April is always a difficult time with the change of the seasons jumps to flat. There are also lots of festivals to get through. I think that I have found three horses to back in the next few weeks who are under the radar.
You might say to yourself the 2014 Cheltenham bumper is hardly under the radar. I actually think the exact opposite. Silver Concorde has been hurdling which has not gone to plan in truth. I think his salvation is in becoming a top stayer on the flat like his stablemate Rite of passage. The run of Silver Concorde in the Chester cup beaten less then two lengths screamed Ascot Gold Cup to my eyes. I will not be put off by any of his runs in the meantime. I think the Ascot Gold Cup over 2 miles 4 furlongs will suit Silver Concorde perfect. I expect Pat Smullen to switch Silver Concorde off early on arrive going well two out. I think Silver Concorde could win it.
Recommendation = Back Silver Concorde in the Ascot Gold Cup
Ardmore ran at Wexford on 7-5-16. Ardmore gave 12 lengths away at the start, Ardmore was beaten less then 2 and a half lengths. I also thought the run behind Stenographer on 20-3-16 was a really promising run. I think Ardmore has plenty of ability.
Recommendation = Back Ardmore on the next three starts
The Brock Inn
The Brock Inn has been running very consistently. A very good run behind Elusive Ivy at the Punchestown Festival on the 28-4-16 over hurdles which demonstrated the ability of The Brock Inn over hurdles. I must admit the run that caught my eye was the run at Clonmel on the flat when The Brock Inn was third to Cliff House on 5-5-16. The Brock Inn got checked at a vital stage when going really well. I think there is a flat race in The Brock Inn. I would imagine connections will mix it between hurdling and the flat.
Recommendation = Back, The Brock Inn on the next three flat starts.
