With the Cheltenham Festival dust settling now. I think it is time to find a few nuggets for the future from the four day extravaganza in Prestbury Park.
If In Doubt
I normally hate the term unlucky loser ,however in the case of If In Doubt he certainly was an unlucky loser. If In Doubt had his run checked several times finishing third in the end by less then a length to Mall Dini in the Pertemps final. I think If In Doubt can gain compensation soon. I would suggest the 3 mile handicap hurdle on the first day of the Aintree Grand National Meeting.
Baoulet Delaroque ran a blinder behind the really smart Diamond King in the Coral Cup, prior to this Baoulet Delaroque had won 3 races on the spin. I think Baoulet Delaroque could do with a step up in trip , there is juice in his handicap mark. I think if Baoulet Delaroque appears at Aintree or Punchestown he will be of major interest over 2 miles 5 furlongs upwards.
Mad Jack Mytton
Although Mad Jack Mytton only finished in 14th place in the County hurdle. I thought he traveled really well in the race for a long way. I also know that the Jonjo O'Neill team fancied him for the race. I think Mad Jack Mytton a flatter track and some nice ground. I reckon a 2 mile handicap at Aintree would suit very well, if that comes a bit soon maybe Punchestown or The Swinton Hurdle at Haydock. Mad Jack Mytton is one for the horse tracker for sure.
