Thanks to everyone for your feedback and good wishes much appreciated. I was happy enough with day 1, I found 2 winners and most of the horses ran their races. I managed to return a 9.75 point profit on the day as per advised stakes, this included the multiple bet.
I thought More of That was brilliant it was great to see him coming back his trainer Jonjo O'Neill was very bullish after the race in interview. Nina Carberry had a day to remember with a double she is really top class.
Here we go for day 2
We start off with a juvenille hurdle,Paul Nicholls has a great record in this race winning it 4 times he has the fav Romain De Senam here who was very impressive winning at Wincanton. Fingertips represents a David Pipe team who did not have the day they wanted on Friday. The good news is Fingertips and Romain De Senam raced in their native France with the latter narrowly winning. Oceane reprsents Alan King (who won this race in 2006 & 2007) Kings's juvenilles are always worth a look and Oceane has won twice and looked efficient. I will take Romain de Senam to win it
Romain De Senam 2pts win 13/8
A real good novice chase Blacklion was a decent novice hurdler but lacks a bit of class I think. Twelve Roses has always been held in high regard by his excellent trainer Kim Bailey Twelve Roses was not a million miles behind the brilliant Faugheen at the Festival in 2014 so is respected. Vicente has to give weight and as we saw on Friday it is hard to concede the penalty for winning in the novice races.
There is one I like here and its Un Temps Pour Tout ,this horse was very decent over hurdles and I think chasing will be his game. David Pipe his trainer has won this twice in the last two seasons with horses making a chasing debut in the last two seasons. Un Temps Pour Tout is going the same route here and can win
Un Temps Pour Tout 3pts win 5/4
I just love these type of races at Cheltenham fiercly competitive. Upswing is fav and will be popular I think he is tricky and a bit unreliable not for me. Sausalito Sunrise blew out alarmingly at Chepstow he did not look keen on racing to me he has ability but he is not for me. Knockanrawley would come into it if there was some rain stays very well.Spring Heeled was a festival winner in 2014 but his trainer is on a massive losing run. Shotgun Paddy his form figures would have you reaching for a vodka bottle but I think he will run well very decent horse. Black Thunder and Just a par represent Nicholls both are decent but have not had a run so may come on for this.
There are two I like here Sego Success who ran in the 4 miler at the festival so he will stay he usually comes on for his first run which he ran well in. The other horse is Audacious Plan he has two runs will be cherry ripe for this stays really well and ran a blinder here in October to top it all he has Paul Townend to steer him very solid chance in my view.
Audacious Plan 2pts each way 10/1
Sego Success 1pt each way 9/1
Cheltenham 225 The Paddy Power Gold Cup
Always a great contest when I was framing this race on Monday I had a shortlist of 7 they all run but one is a reserve. Kings Palace is fav and he was catching my eye for this 6 weeks ago. I must admit though I am put off by his racing weight relative to his record and I also think when the gun has been put to his twice at the festival he has crumpled under the heat so no. Splash of Ginge ticks a lot of my boxes trends wise but his jumping puts me off. Buywise has loads of ability again ticks a lot of boxes but I think he could belt a fence if he does not he will go very close.Little Jon likewise he is a reserve if he gets in could be a lively outsider. Boondooma,Johns spirit and sound investmet have excellent form but I just do not fancy them.
The 3 I like are Irish Cavalier who won at the festival beating a number of these Irish cavalier was superb first time out and stays really well. Art Mauresque was beaten by Irish cavalier at Newton Abbott but he may have needed the run.Art Mauresque won next time out here he is a super jumper also. The one I can not let go is Generous ransom I like his profile and I can see him being there. With 5 places we can split a few
Irish Cavalier 1pt each way 9/1
Art Mauresque 1pt each way 12/1
Generous ransom 0.5pt each way 18/1
Another cracking handicap Batvair has a lot of ability but in a race like this I would like to have seen a recent run. Milan Bound has an awful record at Cheltenham. Dark spirit was classed a lucky winner due to an unlucky runner up but I thought Dark spirit stayed really well and will be involved here.Athlantic Gold stays well and won here last time. Marito Du Berlais is a real good horse on his day and is better then a 16/1 shot
I like two here The Job is right who placed in the 4 mile at the festival he will stay won a handicap hurdle at Galway which Josies orders ran in (won here yesterday) Very solid chance. The other one is on ability Easter day if he was right he would be fav. This horse has loads of ability, I mean loads Easter day has had a bad time over fences but back over hurdles can make his presence felt here.
The Job is right 2pts each way 8/1
Easter Day 1pt each way 14/1
This may not be as open as it looks Western way has been in good form ,Champagne express has ability and Hedley Lamarr is unexposed.
I like 2 here Herbert park looks really solid and Leave at Dawn ran really well in the same handicap hurdle at Galway as the Job is right and Josies Orders.
Herbert Park 1pt each way 9/2
Leave at Dawn 1pt each way 5/1
This looks a really decent bumper Copper Kay and Which one is Which share the same mother and both are very decent horses who travel lovely in their races. A horse of Willie Mullins beat Copper Kay in a bumper at Sandown ,Willie sends two horses here so he will have a fair idea where he is with the opponents.Snag List won well at Gowran ,Dreambaby was gutsy at Galway she is very small but all heart.
Snag list 1pt each way 4/1
Dreambaby 0.5pt each way 16/1
Audacious Plan Cheltenham 150 (10/1)
Leave at Dawn Cheltenham 335 (5/1)
The Job is right Cheltenham 300 (8/1)
3 x (0.5pt each way doubles)
1 x (0.25pt each way treble)
