Who is this site designed for?
We see a lot of different types of people, but typically we would break them down into the following groups:
I like to have a bet every day:
I will be providing selections and bets every day. The minimum will be 1 horse per day with a max of 5. They will be advised in points as per my staking method. There are detailed excels for all the bests I have recommended. The statistics section can be found by clicking here.
I only have time to watch racing and bet at the weekends:
There definitely are punters who prefer this method. They have more time and can get into the racing. The quality of the racing is generally higher unless it is during a festival. There are detailed excels for all bets I have recommended including bank holidays on our statistics page.
I only like to bet on the big Festivals:
No problem we will provide bets for all races at the major festivals and notes on the races taking place at those festivals. I will be covering the following festivals due to requests The Cheltenham Festival,The Cheltenham open meeting, The Aintree Grand national Festival,The Punchestown festival, The Fairyhouse Easter festival,The Leopardstown Christmas Festival, The Kempton Christmas Festival,The Galway Races, Royal Ascot,The Irish champions weekend and The Epsom Derby weekend. There are detailed excels for the for all festivals on our statistics section.
I love a day at the races with my mates:
There is nothing like a day at the races part of the fun is the banter and trying to look for long shots and winners. I find some people find the jargon and race card overwhelming. I am happy to provide short lists selections and staking plans for peoples day at the races, contact us by email for your request (firstname.lastname@example.org).
About Derek McGeehan
I have been a racing fan from a very young age. My parents first took me racing as a young child on a family holiday in the west of Ireland to Sligo races. It was love at first site for me I loved it all the majesty and elegance of the horses, the brilliance and bravery of the jockeys, the sound of the bookies shouting the odds, the excitement of the punters as the race reached it's climax. It was Fairyhouse on Easter Monday then for the Irish national every year. I guess the racing day that changed my life was March 17th 1983 , there was a family gathering in my parents house for St Patrick's day my dad let me have a go and did a yankee for me with my 4 selections (the BBC races). I managed to get 3 winners the centrepiece being Bregawn winning the Cheltenham Gold cup. I can still see Bregawns green and yellow colours now. I naturally thought this racing lark is easy so from that day on I took a real interest in the sport. I am a student of the sport and study it intensly. I love most all racing but my passion is still national hunt racing. I have attended the Cheltenham festival since 1996 and have only missed it twice since, there is nothing like it for racing, atmosphere and drama. I have been to Aintree on numerous occasions and go racing in Ireland very regularly. I have come to really enjoy flat racing , I have been to Epsom for the oaks although I must admit I do not get involved in UK all weather racing generally. I do enjoy Dundalk however. I have also been racing overseas in Arlington (USA) and Turffontein (South Africa).
My favourite National hunt horses of all time are Florida Pearl, Klairon Davis, Moscow Flyer, Kauto Star, Don't Push It, Hardy Eustace, Jezki and Istabraq that list is in the process of growing!
My Favourite flat horses of all time are Galileo, Dubai Millennium, Sea the Stars, Frankel and High Chaparral.
The idea for the website has been in the pipeline for sometime. I have been doing a Cheltenham Festival list since 2006 selections for every race two weeks in advance of The festival. I am proud to say it has shown a profit consistently, it has taken on a life of its own in the last few years turning up in every corner of Ireland ,the UK and indeed Australia . I regularly came good on stag weekends and weddings for people tipping horses and getting winners. I went on to twitter in 2011 and have been posting selections since then with positive feedback. I have had people saying you should do a website for years, so after the Punchestown festival this year I decided to put it together. The site will be free for people to try and use initially. There will be packages to suit every type of horse racing enthusiast the hope is people will get enjoyment, a bit more knowledge and hopefully we can help you win more consistently then you currently are with a little discipline and a staking plan.
